"Of Waves And Ripples" is a _dark ambient meets neo-classical & glitch_ EP comprised of 4 improvised tracks, all performed live and recorded in one take using an hybrid live-looping system, mixing hardware modular and laptop.

After 7 singles recorded with a laptop/all software based setup and 2 EPs done with a hardware Eurorack modular system, "Of Waves and Ripples" sees the union of both realms.
The original idea was to have access to sounds and effects only available in the software world, alongside the hands-on approach and unpredictability a modular synth is known and loved for. But this union proved to be way more than the sum of its parts.

Once at the helm of this giant sonic vessel, I found myself fighting against tidal waves and strong currents to maintain direction, or even just to keep afloat. Even with years of sailing around under one's eyepatch, 2 modular audio loopers, 1 MIDI looper, 1 live sequencer, 3 modular sound sources and a handful of sampled instruments can be a tough crew to manage...
Every single decision leads to a myriad of consequences: You find yourself painstakingly building structures that can crumble at any time, and you have to learn to harness the power of the waves so they don't turn into tsunamis.

The silver lining is that you will visit totally new and unexpected territories ... And that we did my friends ! Ambient, glitch, neo-classical, synth psychedelia and more... It was a wild ride as you will hear !

In the end, we all came back safe, parrot included.
I hope these recordings do justice to the journey it was.
